Teacher Assessors Online Application

This year NMSSA is looking for Teacher Assessors to assist in the assessment of The Arts, Technology and Learning Languages.

 Information for Applicants
Number of Positions 12 teacher assessors
Period of Employment Term 3 2021: Mon 26th July - Fri 1st October.
Hours of Work Training: 8:30am - 4pm, 26th July - 30th July
Assessment programme: 8am - 4pm, 2nd August - 1st October (Mon - Fri).
Teacher assessors work individually, visiting two schools per week.
On occasions, Sunday travel is required to reach school area.
Job Description Administer set assessment tasks to selected Year 4 and Year 8 students.
  Collect student and school information.
  Collate and submit collected data to NMSSA.
  All work is under the guidance of the project director and staff.
     
Person Specification NMSSA is seeking teachers (including relief teachers):
with curriculum interests, responsibilities or skills in the areas being assessed
– The Arts and/or Technology;
who are able to clearly demonstrate cultural responsiveness to, and affinity with, children from diverse backgrounds, particularly Mãori and Pacific;
who can communicate and establish relationships effectively with children, teachers and parents;
who can follow procedures and work accurately with attention to detail; and
who can work confidently with computer technology and new software.
Location Largely at schools in your own region but with a possibility of travel outside the region.
Remuneration For teachers currently employed by a school, there is no interruption to normal salary payments. NMSSA reimburses the employing school.
Teachers not currently employed by a school are employed under a University of Otago, fixed-term contract (between L7–L8 of the Teachers’ Collective Agreement).
Travel & Accommodation Costs Travel and accommodation costs are covered by NMSSA during training days as well as the assessment programme.
Costs covered include: flights, meals, accommodation, hire car or mileage (as required and defined by project guidelines).
