A new te reo Māori resource based on findings from NMSSA
A new resource designed to assist schools with strengthening their provision of te reo Māori is now available for free download from the NMSSA website. The resource is based on findings from NMSSA’s 2016 assessment of learning languages at Year 4 and Year 8 and has been developed with the support of the Ministry of Education.

This resource contains three sets of activity cards, each with a different focus.

Aronuitia te reo Full deck (3 card sets) - PDF
Te reo Māori instructions and info deck - PDF
Full deck printable to A3 - PDF

Explore each individual card set:

Set 1: Whakamahia | Using te reo Māori PDF

The Whakamahia set uses QR codes to provide easy access to reo Māori resources.

Set 2: Whakaarohia | Thinking about the importance of te reo Māori PDF

The Whakaarohia set is designed to stimulate discussion about the importance of providing students with opportunities to learn te reo Māori.

Set 3: Whakarauorahia | Revitalising te reo Māori PDF

The Whakarauorahia set provides schools with the opportunity to think about how they can contribute to the revitalisation of te reo Māori. It foregrounds the government’s three Māori language revitalisation goals and enables schools to explore what they are doing to fulfil these.
